55. 단군조선 천자문-샘spring과 못pond

 

 

 

 

 

 

This letter is "Spring and Pond".

 

The letter also is very special and important like water,

because it is a compound letter.

 

We can find it(a pond) in 訓民正音解例本.

 

I said ४ was [ㅁ, m]sound and water shape,

and then the second letters )( are [ㅗ,o] or [ㅐ, ae].

 

The third letter is the reverse form of ㅅ[ㅅ, s].

 

So I can read it as "못[mos]" from the top to the bottom,

and as "샘[saem]" from the bottom to the top.

 

Water of a pond flows from the top to the bottom like the letter.

Water of a spring gushes out from the bottom to the top

like the letter.

 

It's so mysterious.
